Galatians 3

O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you, to whom before (your) eyes Jesus Christ was portrayed as having been crucified? 2 This only I wish to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit from works of Law or from hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish, having begun with (the) Spirit, are you now being completed with (the) flesh? 4 Did you experience so many things in vain, if indeed in vain? 5 The one then supplying to you the Spirit and working powers among you, (is it) from works of the law or from hearing of faith?

6 As Abraham “believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” 7 know then that those from faith, these are sons of Abraham. 8 But the Scripture, having foreseen that God justifies the Gentiles from faith, proclaimed-beforehand to Abraham that “all the nations shall be blessed-in in you”; 9 therefore, those from faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

10 For as many as are from works of (the) Law, are under a curse; for it has been written that “Accursed (is) everyone who does not remain-in in all the things written in the book of the Law to do these things.” 11 That by (the) Law no one is justified before God is clear, because “the righteous from faith shall live.” 12 The Law is not from faith, but “the one doing these things shall live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law having become for our sakes a curse, because it is written “cursed be everyone hanging from a tree,” 14 in order that to the Gentiles the blessing of Abraham might be in Jesus Christ, in order that the promise of the Spirit we might receive through the faith.

15 Brethren, according to man I speak: still, no one annuls or adds to a person’s ratified covenant. 16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. It does not say, “and to the seeds,” as concerning many but as concerning one—“and to your seed,” which is Christ. 17 This I say: the Law, having come about four hundred and thirty years afterwards, does not annul a covenant ratified-beforehand by God so as to abolish the promise. 18 For if the inheritance (is) from Law, no longer from promise; but God has bestowed (it) upon Abraham through a promise. 19 Why then the Law? It was imposed because of the transgressions, until when the seed might come to whom it has been promised, ordained through angels by (the) hand of a mediator. 20 Now the mediator is not of one, but God is one. 21 (Is) the Law then against the promises [of God]? Let it not be! For if a Law was given able to make alive, righteousness was indeed from Law. 22 But the scripture imprisoned all things under sin, in order that the promise from faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those believing.

23 Before the coming of the faith, we were being guarded under Law, being imprisoned until the coming faith might be revealed, 24 so that the Law has been our guardian until Christ, in order that we might be justified from faith. 25 With the faith having come, we are no longer under a guardian, 26 for you are all sons of God through the faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many (of you) as were baptised into Christ put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is not male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus; 29 and if you are of Christ, then seed of Abraham, heirs according to promise.
