A conversation with John Morehead about narrative-historical approaches to the gospel, salvation, hell, and multifaith

I did an interview last week with John Morehead, who directs Multifaith Matters. His organisation aims to provide support for individuals, churches, and organisations doing mission in a pluralistic religious context, so we talked about “narrative-historical approaches to the gospel, salvation, hell and multifaith.” I have to say, this was a bold move on John’s part. The narrative-historical approach to reading the New Testament will help us in mission only by making things more difficult first. We have some way to go in thinking the “multifaith” part through, but I really appreciated the opportunity to take a few tentative steps in that direction.

It’s also available as a podcast, and if you’re interested, you could listen to an earlier conversation with John and Michael Cooper from 2021.
